My lesbian wife (married in spirit, not on paper) succumbed to mental illness and committed suicide in October 2006. Since then I've been stumbling between destruction and redemption through alcohol, extensive therapy, and a solution of my own device: writing letters to Courtney Love. I have no intention of sending them, but writing to someone who I feel understands the depth of my despair and heartbreak (unlike anyone I know personally), helps me cope somehow. These are the letters. Since they were often written while I was extremely drunk, they are sometimes rambling and incoherent. But in them, I think there is some poetry here and there, and maybe even a shred or two of salvation.
